Together We Make a Difference.

We believe in the encompassing hospitality of Jesus and so we work to feed people. Rowan county has many food insecure people. The need is great and so we show our love of neighbor supporting Rowan Helping Hands Ministries through ongoing collections of food as well as through fund raisers during the year. We also serve 2 meals a year at the county’s homeless shelter and contribute to the ongoing program of “Food for Thought” providing for food insecure students to get them through the weekend.

At Lent we join with our youth in a project for      Heiffer International .

This year we had fun with the many antics of goats and provided four goats to aid families struggling to become self-sufficient. Last year is was many little piggies. I wonder what’s next!

Our pancake supper, on Shrove Tuesday, goes back to the early day of the church in the 1900’s.  Each year we pick a local community support organization to receive the benefits.  Community Dental Clinic, Wallace Cancer Center

Each October the ladies organize the Hunger Awareness Walk. People from Rockwell’s many churches participate to make this a success. 2018 the funds went to the Meals on Wheels of Rowan, in previous years HAW supported Freedom Christian Center pantry, Organ Lutheran Church Pantry and Clothes Closet and Rowan Helping Hands Ministries.
